Sammy Nik-Pay

At age 6, Black Belt contributor Sammy Nik-Pay began studying shotokan karate at the Japan Karate Association of Virginia. During his eight years at the dojo, he participated in several tournaments and earned two separate black belts.

Nik-Pay began his mixed-martial arts training in 2007, and he currently works out with the MMA team at Virginia Tech, where he is a third-year English major. Focusing primarily on jiu-jitsu and muay Thai, Nik-Pay is preparing for MMA competition.
